West Park

West Park is that rather amorphous area between Far Headingley and the Ring Road. Its thus ideally located for Headingley and the Ring Road, and as it shares most of its bus routes with Headingley it makes for easy commuting into the city. Like Headingley its within the "academic ghetto" with easy access to both Universities and abuts the Becketts Park Campus of the Met.

The recent development of the old Yorkshire Water land and conversion of some of its properties on either side of Otley Road have resulted in some fabulous houses and flats. The older properties along the leafy side streets between Ancaster Road and Lawnswood High School offer a huge variety of house sizes and styles ranging from later Arts and Crafts houses through 1930s Modernism to boring 1950s micro developments. Some of the larger detached properties have been converted into luxury apartments but the majority of the housing stock remains as the original house layouts.

A good selection of shops just by the West Park roundabout make it convenient for getting your essentials but Morrisons at Kirkstall and Sainsburys at Moor Allerton are both only 10 minutes away by car for the weekly shop.
